Questions people ask about this property
- What is life like in Carré d'Or?
- The Carré d'Or fits within a rectangle you can cross on foot in five minutes: the Promenade to the south, boulevard Victor-Hugo to the north, and between the two, streets that run straight down to the sea. This is the Nice of 1900 buildings: white cornices, shutters, mosaic lobbies. The ground floors are shared between galleries, practices and a few restaurants that do not shout.
- Where do you shop and go to market?
- For a full market, the cours Saleya lies to the east, past the jardin Albert-Ier: fruit and vegetables in the morning, flowers until 5.30 pm from Tuesday to Saturday. North of boulevard Victor-Hugo, avenue Jean-Médecin is the main shopping street of the centre. The weekly shop can also be done at the Libération market, reached by tram line 1 from Masséna.
- How do you get around from here?
- The sea is a 5-minute walk away. Nice-Ville station is a 14-minute walk away. The tram runs along the northern edge of the district: line 2 stops beneath boulevard Victor-Hugo, at Alsace-Lorraine and Jean Médecin, and goes straight to airport Terminals 1 and 2. Line 1 can be taken at Masséna or Jean Médecin; it serves the Gare Thiers stop, in front of Nice-Ville SNCF station, fourteen minutes on foot from the district. On the Promenade, bus 12+ also heads to the airport.
- Which schools are nearby?
- The nearest state schools sit just outside the district. West of boulevard Gambetta, on rue Dante, the Baumettes group brings together the Simone-Veil nursery and primary schools and the Jean-Moulin primary school; north of boulevard Victor-Hugo, the Auber school takes both nursery and primary pupils. For a public international section, the Nice education authority's list changes from one school year to the next and should be checked each year.

- Class B on the energy performance certificate, that is 104 kWh per sq m per year. Class A for greenhouse gas emissions.
