Life here
Port, Place Île de Beauté
By La Gazette de la Promenade
The port Lympia is a rectangle of water framed by ochre and red façades, with the place Île de Beauté as its central stage. The boats set the rhythm: pointus, yachts, the ferry for Corsica.
For a long time this was the quarter of the port trades; it keeps its antique dealers and bric-a-brac shops, a few streets back from the quays. You browse in the morning and dine in the evening, the restaurants have taken the terraces along the water.
Garibaldi is a few minutes on foot, Vieux-Nice just behind the Colline du Château. It is a quarter on the rise that has not disowned itself: the regulars at the counters share the pavement with the newcomers.
On the market side, the median price stands at €6,950 per m² in the first half of 2026, carried by the façades on the port and the closeness of Garibaldi. Demand outruns supply for apartments that look onto the boats. A quarter whose direction leaves little doubt.
