Life here

Musiciens

By La Gazette de la Promenade

The Musiciens quarter can be read from its street signs: Verdi, Rossini, Berlioz. Between the railway station and avenue Jean Médecin, this is the very centre of Nice, the Nice where everything is done on foot.

The architecture is that of late nineteenth-century immeubles de rapport: ordered façades, wrought-iron balconies, tiled entrance halls, high ceilings on the upper floors.

Life here is practical: shops at street level, the station a few minutes away for Paris or Italy, Jean Médecin and the tramway for the rest. A quarter that does not pose; it works.

On the market side, the Musiciens draws buyers for its centrality and the quality of its older buildings. The large bourgeois apartments find takers among those who want the centre without the front de mer; rental demand, for its part, does not let up.
